Bicycling Is Very Safe

While doing a bit of preemptive research for the comments for the last entry, I stumbled across this article which does, by far, the best job of laying out comparative risk for cycling and other activities (like driving) that I've ever seen. Highly recommended.

Heart disease - #1 killer in America.

Cycling can help reduce your risk. Of course, not eating at KFC or McDonalds every day can't hurt.

On an entirely different tangent, we have spent many many lives and billions of dollars fighting "terror." How does "killed by terrorist" rank compared to walking, cycling, and driving? Speaking of companies getting rich by offering a false sense of security... :)

Terrorism isn't about security. It's about control by the enemy, not the terrorists. How is it that poll numbers determine when terrorist incidents occur?
